Recommend without hesitation After fiddling with propane RV fridges for a number of years in my travel van, I decided to try switching to DC. A friend had told me about this brand with nothing but praise. So, I installed it myself about three years ago. first rate design Just received at home…unit looks very solidly made …chose the door model because being installed in a stealth van and cabinet works best for us …connected to 12v car battery and was amazed how quiet it is running, barely a hum. Surprised to see the cooling fan is off unless ambient is very high…but the coils barely get warm. I run it with 8 deep cycle batteries charged with a solar panel array, and It works perfect as it draws some 30 watts/hour. With the low temperatures prevailing at the site the compressor barely starts every 20-30 minutes and runs for a couple of minutes only and still keeps the temperature of the fridge at 2 centigrades (35 F).
