NorproWe have used immersion heaters to make tea and coffee for more than forty years; while some brands do fail, we suspect that in the majority of cases, it is often not the immersion heater that is defective but rather the user. Works great, just make sure to follow instructions. Most excellent water heater for tea. All the hotels have those k-cup makers now, and I can’t heat up water to make a cup of tea. This heats the water in a ceramic mug almost as fast as I can get my tea box out of my luggage. Just follow the instructions to only plug/unplug it WHILE IT IS IMMERSED and you can’t miss. It has a fuse that is designed to break the circuit if it’s not immersed so that it can’t start a fire. The first time you plug/unplug it when it’s not immersed, it’s going to…

Heats very quick! Love! This little guy heats up cold water to a boil in a flash! However, beware that the clip that holds it on a mug is sharp! I got quite a deep cut from it. I will have the hubby sand the sharp edge. Love it, cut it no cut!
