The Sportsman Propane 4000 Watt Portable Generator can power common household appliances and power tools. It is equipped with two 120 volt outlets and a 12 volt DC outlet for battery charging. A generator of this size is ideal for small camping or tailgating parties or to have on hand in case you need some temporary power in an emergency situation. It has a 7HP 4-Stroke OHV Recoil Start engine. Its affordable but well thought out with full featured options such as Automatic Low Oil Shutdown and Automatic Voltage Regulator. It boasts an engine run time of 10 hours at 50% on a common 20Lb (gas grill type) cylinder (LPG cylinder not included). A 5 foot propane fuel hose with a regulator is included for your added convenience. The engine is surprisingly quiet; it runs at less than 68 Db. This is a great generator for anyone who needs affordable power. Propane has several distinct advantages over gas generators. Propane burns cleaner than gas engines. Carbon monoxide emissions run up to 40% lower. Propane will not degrade, so you can keep several propane tanks on hand for emergencies and store them for an unlimited amount of time. Since this generator runs on propane you never have to worry about the fuel going bad or having the carburetor getting fouled due to degenerated gas – a common problem with gas powered small engines. Unfortunately, this model cannot be converted to operate with natural gas. 4000 surge watts/3250 running watts. Uses a standard gas grill style LPG tank. The 7 HP, 4 stroke OHV, recoil start engine, delivers maximum performance. The generator runs on clean, quiet and efficient liquid propane gas (LPG), so you never have to worry about bad gas fouling the engine. 5 ft. Regulator hose is included in box. LPG propane tank is not included Air cooled, AVR automatic voltage regulation, recoil start, low oil shut off, spark arrestor, full power panel, engine shut off switch, overload protected outlets Two 120 volt outlets and one 12 volt DC outlet for battery charging Run time:10 hours at 50 percent load per 20 lbs. of LPG fuel Decibel rating: less than 68 decibels EPA approved, Non-CARB compliant/Not for sale in California

Crimped hose made starting difficult. On the positive side this generator provides enough power to run my trailer’s air conditioner. I did have to run the refrigerator on LP though. I like not messing with gasoline and simply carry a spar canister of propane or off the propane bottles mounted on the trailer. It is only marginally quieter than the gasoline generator it replaced (a 4000 watt Champion). The propane burns cleaner and I don’t have to worry about a carburetor float letting gasoline drip out when I forget to close the…

makes me SO GLAD that I bought this one Although louder than the more expensive gas generators, I have hooked this up when I go dry-camping to a bank of 3-4 LP tanks. It will literally run for 2 days on 4 tanks. Watching my friends using their gas gennys, out their refueling them after a couple of hours in the rain, and having to run up and grab 5-15 gals of gas when they run out ever day, makes me SO GLAD that I bought this one. Again, use a bottle tree for multiple LP tanks and it has run non-stop for a weekend with absolutely no…

Nice for off-grid building I have used this generator for the past 4 months to build an off-grid tiny house in Prescott, AZ. A 20 lb propane tank lasts into a second day of work while running almost non-stop. The noise level of the generator is maybe slightly higher than some of the other reviews and people that have answered questions. I would equate it to being in the backyard while a lawnmower is running. The land that I am building on is sloped and when the oil level ran slightly low on the generator there was an…
