I was bored and read the packaging The RPBH-012 does eventually heat the liquid. Some have complained about burnout. I did not experience it.However, I had continued to wonder why it is not sold in stores in CA. On my 3rd use, I was bored and read the packaging. The element contains lead. I was heating lead in my drink, soup, etc. I believe it’s been since the 1970’s that not only can lead paint not be used in homes, but no cooking utensils or containers or serving dishes can have lead. The online description did not mention the heating element has lead in it. However the package does.It would have cost more to send back, than the item cost.Leaving out a material fact which has a cumulative affect on customers’ health is a deceptive business practice. I will not purchase from this vendor again and would have given zero stares, if it had been possible.

Heats fine but contains lead This works very well as long as the coil is immersed in liquid while you plug it in and unplug it. It takes 2 to 5 minutes to get a cup of water very hot. The only thing I don’t like is that it contains lead. I don’t know where the lead content is on the heater. I am nervous about immersing it into slightly acidic water because I don’t want the lead to leach out into my beverage.

almost a year of use and still gets the job done This Beverage heater is a good deal and exactly what I was looking for to heat up milk for our baby on road trips. However, due to poor design I am taking off 2 stars.Pros:-plugs firmly into any 12 volt DC power port, no wiggle room to short out-heats milk, water, and other liquids vary fast. It took no longer then 2 minutes to boil 8 oz of water-Extremely portable and easy to set into a mug or glass cup with a rim-led power light indicator-has not blown any fuses on 2010 ford focusCons-There is a plastic coating on the element, it will burn off on the first use, so make sure to run it once in some water that you don’t plan on consuming-The element is difficult to clean where it coils because it is coiled too tightly so milk gets into the cracks around the coil and burns on but there is no way to clean it out of the cracks without spreading the coil apart a little. I used a butter knife to spread -the coil apart just a…
