Beware this unit is not fused. It started melting … Beware this unit is not fused. It started melting and burning while I was driving. It only had one device plugged into it and that device had a 15 amp fuse built in. The car`s fuse is 30 amps so there was no problem there. This 3 outlet unit is dangerous; see the picture. It also ruined the cars 12 volt outlet.
RoadPro 12V 3 Outlet I purchased this accessory to power a couple 12v devices I had for an upcoming trip. The description of the product was vague, but I figured for the low price I would give it a go. Unfortunately, it was a waste of money. This product is poorly made and more importantly only uses 18 Ga wire – not heavy duty enough.
Medusa’s Power Adapter Road-trip special. Plugs into the power outlet in the cup holder bay of my Maxima. Has to be pushed-down firmly and after awhile you will want to re-seat it since vibration and the center contact spring works the plug loose. Tethered plastic caps keep the trash out of the unused outlets. Fuse is in the plug (carry a spare) and make sure that the nut that holds the center contact/fuse in place is tight.
