Plug into 12-volt DC outlet or used in your home with the addition of a 110-volt AC Adapter (available separately) The Kargo Kooler is part of Koolatron’s line of 12-volt coolers designed to plug into a car’s cigarette lighter. Each cooler keeps your food cool without the use of ice. The really cool feature of the Kargo Kooler, though, is its versatility. With a compartmentalized interior and split lid/door, the unit looks more like a compact refrigerator than a cooler, with multiple stacking shelves and a top and bottom door. Even better, the split lid/door gives you access to the food inside even if the cooler is packed tightly in the trunk with a ton of luggage. The cooler’s two dividers can be used in multiple positions–either as shelves (if the cooler is stored vertically, like a refrigerator), or as partitions (if it’s stored horizontally, like a chest). To keep things cool, the 12-volt cooling system hums along on one side of the cooler, keeping the internal temperature 40 degrees F lower than the external temperature. Koolatron also sells a portable power pack that keeps the unit cool even when away from a vehicle. As an alternative, the cooler can also act as a warmer when you need to keep something heated. When sitting in chest position, the Kargo Kooler measures 20 by 14 by 16 inches (length by width by height). It holds up to 42 12-ounce soft-drink cans and weighs 14 pounds when empty. –Rivers Janssen

Husband loves it! I bought this about a year ago for my husband who is a truck driver. Have tried other brands and they died within months. This one is still going strong and has plenty of room. We are very happy I bought it!
I have to say I really really love it! They last a very long time I use this in my room as a mini fridge, I have to say I really really love it!They last a very long time, the first one I bought ran for a good 4 1/2 years straight plugged in 24/7 .. I replaced it with the same one and it’s still running strong. Occasionally the water I store in it will get so cold that it becomes super-cooled and you just shake the bottle to watch it freeze. The only thing that is an issue is I tend to have to replace the power supply.. I’ve had to do that 2-3 times so it doesn’t last as long as the cooler itself.Another thing is if you’re going to use it as a mini-fridge like I do where it’s constantly running, you will have to defrost it on occasion.. I do that by putting a plastic tray under the fan / cooling unit and using something to prop open the door, then I switch it into hot mode and let it warm up for about 20 minutes.. I use an air canister to blow out any water left over and switch it back. It really is pretty low maintenance…
