The Koolatron 12 Volt compact cooler was specially designed to fit in those tight spaces between and behind the seats of your car, van or truck. This cooling unit plugs into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter, and can be set to keep your food up to 40 degree Fahrenheit colder than the outside temperature to cool your favorite drinks and snacks to 45 to 50 Fahrenheit degrees below the ambient temperature. It fits 80- 12 ounces cans, and is great for large families or serious tailgating.Coolers are usually large and unwieldy, which is why Koolatron developed the Compact Kooler, specially designed to fit in the snug spaces behind the seats of many cars, trucks, and vans. Like many of Koolatron’s coolers, this unit features a 12-volt cooling system that plugs into a car’s cigarette lighter. The cooler’s motor blows cold air over your food and beverages, keeping them 40 degrees F cooler than the outside temperature. The cooler also doubles as a warmer, if you’d rather keep the contents toasty. Outside of the car or truck, the cooler is still versatile, with a swinging, foldaway handle for easy portage and a latchless lid that opens with one hand. Other handy features include a convenient cord wrap and a unique storage spot for the unplugged cigarette lighter. Despite the unit’s compact size and weight (only 9 pounds), it can still hold up to 23 12-ounce soft drinks. –Rivers Janssen

It works fantastic — with some planning. I’ve seen several posts about having problems with this product. It’s been great for me, as long as I remember how it works. It works using natural convection, not a fan or a huge heat sink like a big block of ice.The fan you hear does not move air in the cooler. It only draws the heat out of the cooling element on the outside. The cooling element on the inside is just cold.Consider if you had a block of ice as small as a stick of butter in the corner of your cooler,…

not as expected I read in one review that to better use this product, you need to have an understanding of thermodynamics. Well, it didn’t say that on the box or the tiny manual or in the online description. Too bad I have bought this product already before that review came out. So, good for those who do. But for an average shopper who tends to rely on what is being advertised, I expect it to deliver as promised. I know it’s a cooler so I was not expecting it to behave like a refrigerator. But I expected it…

Too Cold for Insulin Will keep your food cool once it cools down, However most of the time I tested it couldn’t keep it from freezing the contents other than turning it on and off every half hour. Bought it to keep insulin at 40 degrees while travelling. It will not work other than by constantly watching a gauge, purchased separately, and plugging it in and unplugging it every half hour. Using it now to keep lunches cool while travelling. Just don’t leave it plugged in for long. Works the same plugged in to the AC…
