The entire reason for this to exist is to be heavy duty, however in all aspects it comes short. The one thing this is quoted as being designed for, “80 consecutive seals,” is what it is the worst at. If it’s not vacuuming it might need new gaskets! ($3/each on the foodsaver website!!) I love this. It’s my first and hopefully my last, vacuum food sealer. It works wonderfully. I only wish I could seal liquids properly (I haven’t tried but I’ve read that the liquid bags are not for things like soups, but “juicy” meats, etc). A lot of people have left negative reviews about it failing to vacuum and seal after X months, years, seals, etc, and thus calling it cheap, Chinese plastic junk. I package a huge amount of dry products for storage and will sometimes use this unit for 2-3 hours without stopping. It does the job and then some. Not one issue so far.
